General aviation is a dynamic industry with a robust and talented workforce.

That was the message clearly conveyed in a video shown by GAMA at the association’s Feb. 21 State of the Industry event.

“This video is about our most precious resource, and that’s the men and women that work in this tremendous industry,” GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce said in introducing the video, which featured men and women around the country working in various jobs within general aviation – from systems engineers to avionics technicians to pilots.

“There’s a lot of opportunity in general aviation and about every different discipline within aviation that you can imagine from pilots to air traffic control to engineering and manufacturing,” said test pilot Grant Wittenborn, with Garmin in Olathe, KS. “It’s a really exciting time to be in aviation.”

Through the four-minute video, the industry professionals talked about the pride they have in their jobs and the excitement that comes with working in an exciting industry,

“It’s fun to see something I’ve made take off,” Lauren Smith, with Wipaire in South St. Paul, MN.

“It makes me go home feeling like I did something,” added Al Olivarez, from Wipaire. “I just built something pretty sweet.”
