A business aircraft has been painted in bright, rainbow colors for Make-A-Wish, an organization that grants wishes to seriously ill children. The Lear Jet model 35 aircraft is named the Dream Chaser 5 and it took children from Make-A-Wish on flights over their town. The one-of-a-kind jet visited six cities over a week-long period, flying the local children from California, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.
The flights provided these Make-A-Wish kids a rare opportunity to take to the skies in the 500 mile-per-hour jet. The children had an opportunity to sit in the airplane cockpit and talk to the pilots before their flight and they each received a hat and T-shirt featuring the rainbow jet to commemorate their day. At the completion of their flight they signed their name on the side of the airplane.
“Many of our employees volunteered their own time to make this project possible,” said Lynn Krogh, CEO of International Jet Aviation. “It gave us all a chance to give back something to the community and it is very rewarding to bring something special to the lives of the Make-A-Wish children.”
The Lear Jet was donated by International Jet Aviation, an aircraft charter and management company based in Denver, Colorado. International Jet Aviation has been working with Make-A-Wish since 1990.
