General Aviation Vital to Success of West Virginia Businesses, Governor Says

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice proclaimed October 2017 General Aviation Appreciate Month in recognition of the benefits the industry brings to towns and cities across the state. “With the state’s geography, a large number of businesses and communities depends on general aviation aircraft for access to medical treatment, economic opportunity and communication,” the governor wrote.

Atlantic County, NJ Looks to MRO as Economic Development Opportunity

A partnership between Atlantic County, NJ and Atlantic Cape Community College has been finalized to develop training programs for aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul technicians to boost employment in a region that is facing economic challenges. “The county has embarked on an aggressive effort to diversify the local economy, and aviation was identified as one of several strategic industries,” said Howard Kyle, Atlantic County’s chief of staff.

The No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign figures to be prominently featured at the upcoming NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), taking place Oct. 10-12 in Las Vegas, NV.
