Patient AirLift Services (PALS) arranges free flights for individuals in need of medical diagnosis, treatment or follow-up far from home, for compassionate or humanitarian assistance, and for military personnel and their families through the PALS for Patriots Program.
“PALS is honored to provide veterans and their families with free flights to support their medical treatments and compassionate needs.” said Claire Stapleton, director, development, marketing and communications, PALS. “Together with our volunteer pilots, commercial and corporate partners, we help to alleviate the transportation costs that often create a financial burden for families in need. This enables them to focus on what is most important, their medical care and treatment.”
PALS also arranges flights for humanitarian purposes in the event of natural or man-made disasters through the PALS Sky Hope Disaster Relief Program.
Since PALS was founded in 2010, volunteer pilots have flown nearly 20,000 passenger flights and served 4,000 patients. PALS currently has more than 1,300 active volunteers including 650 pilots.
Pilots and aviation corporations interested in volunteering their time and talent in support of disaster relief or charitable aviation efforts should visit PALS’ website to learn how to get involved.
