The No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign – and its #BizAvWorks initiative – were highlighted at the recent NBAA Local and Regional Groups Roundtable event in Chicago, which brought together dozens of business aviation industry leaders from the around the country to talk about issues impacting the industry.
The #BizAvWorks initiative features the use of the hashtag on the campaign’s Twitter and Facebook platforms, to promote business aviation, and the recognition of its value, from elected officials and people in the industry alike.
Discussions about the initiative at the meeting of regional group leaders ranged from ways to use #BizAvWorks in communications with the organizations’ members; to ways to leverage other popular No Plane No Gain resources, such as the Business Leaders on Business Aviation booklet, which features testimonials about business aviation’s value from well-respected CEOs, and the Business Aviation Fact Book, which explains the many ways the industry benefits citizens, companies and communities.
“At this year’s roundtable, we wanted to remind participants that a host of resources are available for people in our industry to inform policymakers and opinion leaders why business aviation is essential in America today,” said Steve Hadley, NBAA’s director of regional programs and Southwest regional representative.
Roundtable participants also learned of ways to become more effective advocates of business aviation through presentations with members of NBAA’s Maintenance and Access committees, as well as airport and airspace specialists. NBAA’s regional representatives helped tailor these opportunities to an area’s unique needs, said Hadley.
Roundtable participants included representatives from the Chicago-Area Business Aviation Association, the Greater St. Louis Business Aviation Association, the Kansas City Business Aviation Association, and the Massachusetts Airport Management Association. Joining them were representatives from business aviation associations in Northern and Southern California, Colorado, the Carolinas, Ohio, Minnesota, Florida and South Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, the Pacific Northwest, North Texas and Arizona.
