Jay Coffman: "Our King Air provides a collaborative environment. We use it as an office to prepare for the day's event, in a safe, secure and confidential environment. You just don't get that if you have to fly on the airlines."
Business Aviation Helps Luck Stone Mine Opportunities

Luck Stone
Richmond, Va.

Luck Stone is a family-owned company, quarrying and refining quality stone for customers nationwide. Based just northwest of Richmond, Virginia, the business has relied on a company airplane since 1971 and currently uses a Beech King Air 350.

"It's so hard to take a whole stone quarry to a client," says company VP Jay Coffman, tongue-in-cheek. "So we're using our company airplane to bring customers here, to see the product for themselves, meet us and understand the Luck Stone culture."

That values-based culture is the bedrock - so to speak - of Luck Stone's remarkable success. "My dad taught me that if you treat people fairly, then they'll treat you the same," says Charles S. Luck, III, now Chairman of the Board.

Company values of Leadership, Creativity, Integrity and Commitment are supported by the corporate airplane, VP Coffman says.

Leadership.  "What could be more important, especially in this economy, than showing the way, inspiring confidence and optimism?" asks Coffman. "With our company airplane, we can be there when our customers want to know what we think will happen in this industry, 18 months or more in the future."

Creativity.  Luck Stone has a long history of developing creative solutions.  "We listen to our customers and collaborate with them to find the answer they need," says Coffman.

Integrity.  The company builds customer relationships with honesty and accountability.  "And consistency," says Coffman.  "It's about a customer's trust in us, and the airplane lets us fulfill that trust."

Commitment.  "We focus on long-term success for our customers, our associates and the communities in which we live," says Coffman.  The company has received numerous awards over the years for that commitment.
